Marshall County Humane Society requires an appointment to show an animal since we are all volunteer. We also require a home visit before finalizing adoption to check the security of your fence if you are adopting a dog. We only adopt to areas within 125 mi. of Holly Springs MS. Our dogs are given much care and attention and we want to make sure they are in a safe and secure environment. We are a limited intake adoption center and a non-profit organization. Our animals have been spayed/neutered & are up to date on shots. Our standard Dog adoption fee is $150 which includes a microchip. We sometimes make exceptions to standard fee for those with extra medical care. Our Cat adoption fee is $95.00. LUCKY is a handsome black Labrador Retriever.  Due to no fault of his own, he has lost his home that he was in for a year.  A family member had a serious illness recently, and with two small children to take care of, they felt it best to give up this dog.  They are really upset to give up the dog but felt it  best,  due to current circumstances.  Lucky has had training, and knows commands including  Sit, Leave It, and Get to leave food alone.  He is totally house trained and submissive to other dogs. Lucky had a positive heartworm test several months after the owner adopted him, but has been through heartworm treatment and is doing fine.  He has been in a home with small children and gets along well with them.   We would like to find either a permanent adoption or a foster home for Lucky, since he is now used to home environment, and going back to shelter life is going to be hard for him.
